Lichens are beings consisting of two organisms (fungi and algae) co-existing in one body, living in a mutualistic symbiosis with each other where both parts benefit. Together they form a sort of micro ecosystem that works as a home for smaller organisms, and they play important roles in a vast variation of terrain types around the world. The photo printed textile sculptures are based on photogrammetry scans of three species of lichen found in Norway. As prints they are scaled up to form human sized sculptures, stuffed and sowed following the outlined shape of the lichen body. The sculptures were installed hanging from tent wires attached to multiple points on the sculptures body, lifted from the ground as individual beings.
